Beginning in 2007, the Alumni Board wanted to recognize young alumni (40 years old and younger) who are rising stars in their fields and have shown true potential to be great leaders. To date six young CLA alumni have been the recipients of the EVA.

Since 1986, the Distinguished Alumni Awards has recognized CLA/HSSE alumni for their professional achievements, dedication to their communities, and involvement with Purdue.

To-date 102 alumni have been honored, including coaching great John Wooden, C-SPAN founder Brian Lamb, author and television personality Ted Allen, and many others.
