Department Head and Professor of English -
We invite applications for the position of Head of the Department of English at Purdue University. Undergraduates have 5 program options within the English department: literature, creative writing, professional writing, education, and linguistics. At the graduate level, the department offers an M.A.; an M.F.A. in Creative Writing; and the Ph.D. in five areas: Literature, Theory, and Culture; English Language and Linguistics; Rhetoric and Composition; English Education; and Second Language Studies/ESL. Faculty are also involved in such interdisciplinary programs as African American Studies, American Studies, Comparative Literature, Linguistics, Medieval and Renaissance Studies, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.  Fifty-four tenured or tenure-track faculty, 4 continuing lecturers, 23 limited-term lecturers, 3 administrative professional staff members, and 8 clerical staff employees, along with approximately 140 graduate students comprise the unit. Assistant Professor of English—Creative Writing, Poetry
The Department of English at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Creative Writing-Poetry at the level of assistant professor. Successful candidates will hold an M.F.A. or Ph.D. in Creative Writing; have published at least one book from a national press; show evidence of a strong ongoing record of publication; and have experience teaching creative writing at the university level.
