2020 Literary Awards

Please note that in keeping with Purdue’s recently announced “social distancing” safety precautions, the Department of English will be cancelling or postponing all physical events in March and April, including its annual Literary Awards. Don’t worry: we’re still selecting winners.  Events will be postponed until Fall of 2020. 

The DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH at Purdue University is pleased to announce that poet Yusef Komunyakaa will be our distinguished guest speaker for the 2020 Literary Awards celebration, which will take place on April 23, 2020.

The following events are planned:

April 23, 5:00 - 7:00 pm - North Ballroom, PMU. Literary Awards reception and awards ceremony including remarks from Mr. Komunyakaa about the creative process. Tickets will go on sale in March of 2020.

April 23, 8:00 pm - Fowler Hall, STEW. Mr. Komunyakaa's reading and book signing. Free and open to the public.
