The Visual & Performing Arts department regularly takes bus trips to Chicago. Chicago is home to the Art Institute and other prestigious institutions, providing students an opportunity to engage with works of art studied in class on a personal level. Haan Mansion Museum (Lafayette, IN)
The Haan Mansion Museum occupies a stately Classical Revival home, originally built for the St. Louis World's fair in 1904. This beautifully designed structure, with a grand central hall and oval-shaped well on the second floor, contains an extensive collection of Indiana art that included paintings, furniture, and ceramics, all displayed in rooms throughout the house. A recent special exhibition features cartoon art of Jim Davis. There was a field trip to the museum in the spring of 2016.
