Light Attack - Media Art and the 'Moving-Moving' Image as Intervention in Public Spaces

Sauter's art brings up inherent questions about privacy and property in the public sphere. This lecture will provide an overview of his work and refer specifically to Light Attack. Other innovative approaches by artists, designers, and architects utilizing media facades and responsive architecture to engage passers-by in public urban spaces will also be discussed, as well as the growing significance of responsive and interactive techniques within such spaces. many architects, urban planners, landscape designers, and public artists incorporate media technologies into their designs, both to enhance people's identification with buildings and places and to accommodate increasing needs in a highly visual information society.

Daniel Sauter is an artist who creates interactive installations and site-specific interventions dealing with the cultural and social implications of emergent technologies. His current projects focus on mobile interventions exploring the phenomenon of projection in urban spaces.
