In contrast to 2005.02.108 and 2005.02.061, this icon shows both the Virgin and Gabriel in the same panel. As Gabriel approaches the Virgin, gesturing in speech and carrying an olive branch, she reacts with surprise, while kneeling at a lectern with a text. The Virgin wears a white veil, a red tunic, and a blue cloak. The entire image is strongly influenced by Western European models and shuns the Byzantine tradition (compare to 2005.02.061, in which Byzantine elements are clearly present).
