Creole Jazz Band II
Print
This jazz band woodcut uses implied line, mark-making, direction and positive and negative space to create the look of figures, and instruments on stage or performing. The wood grain is showing through and the way the marks are made they reflect the wood itself. The thinner lines show shadow and texture while the black is filling in for outlines or shapes. Same with the white.
