Individual and Society: Many Voices, Many Views

Stewart Center Gallery (across from Fowler Hall)
January 10 through February 20, 2005

Image from Individual and Society: Many Voices, Many ViewsThe Remnant Trust has established itself as an archive of premiere first and early edition texts containing the "wisdom of the ages." Together, the texts present seminal writings on education, culture, economics, civil rights and government from the past 2,500 years of civilized discourse.

Included will be writings by Aristotle, Emerson, Grotius, Hobbes, Lincoln, Machiavelli, Milton, Paine, Rand, Thoreau and others, as well as related artworks from the Purdue Galleries permanent collection.

Purdue Galleries is hosting "Individual and Society: Many Voices, Many Views" as part of a campus-wide series of programs discussing the impact and legacy of these texts in modern society.

To complement the Remnant Trust exhibition, the Purdue University Libraries are proud to present “Voices That Changed the World,” an exhibition of rare books from the Libraries Special Collections.
