Please join us for a public reading of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated Guards at the Taj by Indian-American playwright Rajiv Joseph, directed by Professor Richard Stockton Rand. Featuring acting students Arya Lele as Humayun and Arvindakshan Rajesh as Babur, this reading will take place tomorrow evening, Tuesday, September 24 at 7:30 pm in Pao Hall, Room 2154 (please note the room change from the previous 2164). Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; doors will open at 7:00 pm.

In 1648 India, two Imperial Guards watch from their post as the sun rises for the first time on the newly-completed Taj Mahal—an event that shakes their respective worlds. When they are ordered to perform an unthinkable task, the aftermath forces them to question the concepts of friendship, beauty, and duty, and changes them forever.
