Linda Kliewer was born on December 27, 1953 in Newport News, Virginia. She was educated at the University of Virginia (B.A. Studio Art); Maine Photographic Workshops, Rockport, Maine; and Anderson Ranch, Aspen, Colorado.
Linda Kliewer's work in the lesbian and gay community of Portland, Oregon, spans nearly 15 years. Her photographs are regularly published in Oregon's Just Out Newsmagazine and OUT Magazine, a national lesbian and gay publication, and are currently part of a traveling exhibit developed by Time Warner Inc., It's Us: A Celebration of Who We Are in America Today.
Her images have been published regionally and nationally in a wide variety of books and periodicals and are included in The Commemorative Poster Series: The 1993 March on Washington. Her work has been included in exhibits at Blue Sky Gallery, Photographic Image Gallery, Gallery 8, Hoffman Gallery, Camerawork Gallery (Portland, OR) and RAM Gallery in San Francisco. Her recent video credits include regional producer and cinematographer of the award winning documentary Ballot Measure 9.
