Willyce Kim

When asked about her photographs published in Lesbians Speak Out in 1974, author Willyce Kim responded, "I took a bunch of photos in the 70s...dykes, of course...I worked out of my basement developing and printing."


Willyce Kim was born on the island of Oahu in the city of Honolulu in 1946. In the 1970s, she worked for the Women's Press Collective in Oakland, California. She is the author of two books of poetry: Eating Artichokes (1972) and Under the Rolling Sky (1976), and two novels: Dancer Dawkins and the California Kid (1985) and Dead Heat (1988).
