A. AMST 10100: America and the World (3 hours) is an introductory writing course that examines the United States and the country's connections to the broader world. There is no prerequisite.
B. AMST 20100: Introduction to American Studies (3 hours) is an introductory course that is intended to introduce undergraduate students to the major. There is no prerequisite.
C. AMST 30100: Perspectives on America (3 hours) is a variable topic/title course. There is no prerequisite. AMST 30100 should be taken before students enroll in the senior capstone course (AMST 49000). This course may be repeated once either in place of AMST 49000 or to help fufill Requirement B.
D. AMST 49000: Interdisciplinary Senior Capstone Project in American Studies (6 hours). The capstone requirement may also be fulfilled through an additional AMST 30100 plus one additional course from the courses listed in Requirement B. AMST 20100 and 30100 are prerequisites.
