Dr. Browning, a Professor of Political Science and Communication at Purdue University, is the\r\nFaculty Director of the CCSE and the Executive Director of the C-SPAN Archives.\r\nThe inaugural board is comprised of the following scholars:\r\nMatthew Bergbower, Ph.D. \u2013 Department Chair and Professor, Department of Political Science at\r\nIndiana State University.\r\nResearch: state politics, campaigns, voting behavior and voting in statewide campaigns\r\nPorismita Borah, Ph.D. \u2013 Associate Professor, Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at\r\nWashington State University and Editor-in-Chief, International Journal of Public Opinion Research.\r\nResearch: emerging technology in politics and health, political communication, framing effects, and\r\npsychological mechanisms\r\nNadia Brown, Ph.D. \u2013 Professor of Government and Director of the Women's and Gender Studies\r\nProgram and Affiliate in the African American Studies program at Georgetown University and Lead Editor\r\nof Politics, Groups and Identities.\r\nResearch: identity politics, legislative studies, Black women's, the intersectionality of race and gender,\r\npolitical behavior, representation, race and ethnicity politics, and gender politics\r\nKathryn Cramer Brownell, Ph.D. \u2013 Associate Professor, Department of History at Purdue University and\r\nSenior Editor, Made By History at The Washington Post.\r\nResearch: American political history, the American presidency, and intersections of media, politics, and\r\npopular culture in modern America\r\nBryce Dietrich Ph.D. \u2013 Associate Professor, Department of Political Science at Purdue University and\r\nResearch Scholar, Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement.\r\nResearch: analysis of non-traditional data sources such as audio (or speech) data and video data, nonverbal political behavior, descriptive representation and implicit gender\/racial bias\r\n\r\nJennifer Hoewe, Ph.D. \u2013 Associate Professor, Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University\r\nand Director of the Media and Politics Research Group at Purdue.\r\nResearch: depiction of political issues and groups in media content, influence of media on consumers,\r\nand the intersection of political communication and media psychology\r\nAlison Novak, Ph.D. \u2013 Associate Professor, Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts at Rowan\r\nUniversity.\r\nResearch: public engagement in policy advocacy campaigns and media, public policy, and politics\r\nTerri Towner, Ph.D. \u2013 Professor, Political Science Department at Oakland University and Co-Editor-inChief at the Journal of Information Technology and Politics.\r\nResearch: American politics, public opinion, elections, voting behavior, quantitative methodology and\r\nthe role of social media in campaigns and elections\r\nThe scholars selected to serve on the board represent a wide variety of expertise across research areas\r\nand will allow the CCSE to provide an annual repository for innovative research which focuses on using\r\nmore than 275,000 hours of content including video, audio, and text available in the C-SPAN Video\r\nLibrary.\r\nThe Year in C-SPAN Archives Research volumes contain research papers presented at the national CCSE\r\nResearch Conference.
