Ben currently specializes in analytic political philosophy and ethics. He has a special interest in the great liberal political thinkers of the contemporary period: John Rawls, Ronald Dworkin, Amartya Sen, Martha Nussbaum, and Joseph Raz. He considers himself to be a liberal political philosopher, and is interested in reading the critics of liberalism, learning what is valuable from them, and defending against what is mistaken. In ethics, he is interested in ethical theory and applied ethics, especially animal ethics.
Ben aspires to competence in philosophy of law and has secondary interests in epistemology and philosophy of religion.
