Brian Kelly joined the faculty at Purdue University in 2006. His topical areas of research interest include health, substance use, adolescence and early adulthood, sexuality, and comparative youth cultures. He has authored or co-authored papers in sociology journals such as Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Science Research, Social Science & Medicine, Sociology of Health & Illness, and Sociological Quarterly, as well as public health journals, such as the American Journal of Public Health, AIDS & Behavior, & Drug and Alcohol Dependence. The foci of his current research projects include social contextual influences of prescription drug misuse among U.S. youth and the influence of policy contexts on youth substance use trajectories. He currently serves as Senior Editor at Addiction.
