Bryn Ford received his Ph.D. in Ancient History from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. His areas of expertise are Roman political and cultural history as well as landscape history. His research examines how literary and artistic images of the landscape shifted in response to historical change in a variety of ancient contexts, from the plains and pastures of Italy during the Roman conquest to the deserts of Egypt at the origins of Christian monasticism.
