Madelina Nuñez is a Ph.D. student in American Studies within the School of Interdisciplinary Studies. Her dissertation research is on halal, Latino food and foodways, and Latino Muslim communities and coalitions. Additionally, she serves as the President of Purdue Graduate Student Government 2020-2022.
She holds an M.A. in Latin American and Latino Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a B.A. in Studio Art and Latino Studies from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has instructed in Latin American and Latino Studies and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and has worked for the Inter-University Program for Latino Research (IUPLR).
