Fenggang Yang
Please join me in congratulating Fenggang Yang, professor of sociology and founding director of the Center on Religion and Chinese Study, for receiving a planning grant from the John Templeton Foundation.
Fenggang’s project, titled “Measuring Religious Change in the Global East,” will study East Asian societies and diasporas around the world that share similar backgrounds in Confucianism. The project aims to “develop survey questions to accurately measure religiosity in the Global East, network with scholars of religion in East Asia, and make preparations to study the spatial-temporal changes of religion in the Global East,” according to its executive summary.
The Templeton Foundation awarded Fenggang and co-PI Chris White $234,800 for their one-year project.
Congratulations, Professor Yang!
