Robin Stryker
Please join me in congratulating Robin Stryker on her appointment as Distinguished Professor of Sociology.
Born and raised in Bloomington, Robin returned to her home state last year to join the Purdue faculty. She previously served as a sociology professor, affiliated professor of law, and affiliated professor of government and public policy at the University of Arizona. From 2011-16, she was also research director of the University of Arizona’s National Institute for Civil Discourse. Robin also received legal training at Yale Law School and the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University and has been a faculty member at the University of Minnesota and the University of Iowa.
Throughout her academic career, Robin has distinguished herself as a multidisciplinary educator, widely published author who has served on numerous editorial and advisory boards, and prolific researcher whose work has been recognized across the globe.
The Board of Trustees ratified Robin’s promotion to the rank of Distinguished Professor of Sociology at its meeting today.
