Please join me in congratulating School of Languages and Cultures members Tatjana Babic Williams, Riham Ismail, Jason Wright, Débora Borba, and Daniel Jara Carrillo for their recent accomplishments.
Tatjana, a continuing lecturer in Italian, recently won a fellowship from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) for a professional development workshop on teaching Italian at the Accademia Italiana in Salerno.
Riham, a Ph.D. student in comparative literature and a teaching assistant in classics, and Jason, a Ph.D. student and TA in French, won $1,000 from Associate Provost of Engagement Steve Abel for their community service-learning project “Relinking the French Cultural Heritage of Greater Lafayette” with Harrison High School.
Débora and Daniel, Ph.D. students in Spanish and Portuguese, were accepted into the April 2019 workshop “Don Quixote and its Contexts” at the Newberry Library in Chicago.
