PRF International Travel Grants

Applications to the CLA competition for the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) International Travel Grants are due Monday, March 30, 2020 at 5 PM ESTIn CLA we are now holding only one callout per year for this fund. Please apply to this fund for international travel for conferences or research in the fiscal year beginning July 1 of this year and ending June 30 of next year.

The purpose of the PRF International Travel Grant Program is to assist Purdue faculty members in their international scholarly and creative work by providing a portion of the travel costs to those who will have an active role at recognized international meetings or those who will have an active role in international research projects.

Examples of non-eligible travel include the following: travel to international conferences where you will have no active role [only attending]; travel for teaching purposes [overseas university guest lecturer; teaching a course at an international university, etc.]; or travel to a sabbatical destination. The grants provide up to $2,000 as partial reimbursement for all approved travel expenses (airfare, lodging, per diem, et cetera).

Additional info is also on the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research website at the following URL:

An application should not be longer than two pages including the first cover page. When applications are approximately equal in intellectual merit, the fact that some applicants have received this grant previously or have other sources of funds that could be used for travel reimbursement may be considered in determining recipients.

Please be sure that the title and sponsoring organization are listed fully (not, for example, as an acronym), and that a translation is provided if the title or organization is in a language other than English.

Finally, the application calls for a copy of the letter of invitation and/or other documentation (e.g., an e-mail) confirming that your paper has been accepted for presentation at the conference. If your documentation of acceptance is not available by the application due date, please indicate the expected date on which the documentation will be available. If this documentation is in a language other than English, please provide a translation.
