PRF International Travel Grants
Applications to the CLA competition for the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) International Travel Grants are due Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 5 PM EST. In CLA we are now holding only one callout per year for this fund. Please apply to this fund for international travel for conferences or research in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020.
The purpose of the PRF International Travel Grant Program is to assist Purdue faculty members in their international scholarly and creative work by providing a portion of the travel costs to those who will have an active role at recognized international meetings or those who will have an active role in international research projects.
Examples of non-eligible travel include the following: travel to international conferences where you will have no active role [only attending]; travel for teaching purposes [overseas university guest lecturer; teaching a course at an international university, etc.]; or travel to a sabbatical destination. The grants provide up to $2,000 as partial reimbursement for all approved travel expenses (airfare, lodging, per diem, et cetera).
More information about the PRF grants is available on the CLA website at the following URL:
Additional info is also on the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research website at the following URL:
To help reviewers evaluate applications, additional information is requested on the attached form that is not requested on the form from the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research. Please use our forms and not the EVPRP’s.
An application should not be longer than two pages including the first cover page. When applications are approximately equal in intellectual merit, the fact that some applicants have received this grant previously or have other sources of funds that could be used for travel reimbursement may be considered in determining recipients.
You will see that the application form calls for a signature: You may use a digital signature or leave that space blank, with your cover email counting as your signature. In addition, please be sure that the title and sponsoring organization are listed fully (not, for example, as an acronym), and that a translation is provided if the title or organization is in a language other than English.
Finally, the application calls for a copy of the letter of invitation and/or other documentation (e.g., an e-mail) confirming that your paper has been accepted for presentation at the conference. If your documentation of acceptance is not available by the application due date, please indicate the expected date on which the documentation will be available. If this documentation is in a language other than English, please provide a translation.
Applications should be sent as email attachments in a single PDF file to the ADR office at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday March 27, 2019 at 5 PM EST.
