Cody Wilson came to Purdue to study science, but a passion for helping people prompted him to change his major to sociology. Encouragement he received through the Old Masters program led Cody to participate in Teach for America and work with children in under-served communities.

Undecided Liberal Arts

As an undecided major, students explore from among more than 40 majors in the College of Liberal Arts while making progress toward an undergraduate degree. Liberal Arts majors prepare graduates for a fast-changing world of work with the skills to succeed in jobs that don’t even exist yet. The communication, problem-solving, critical and creative thinking skills developed in liberal arts classes align with those Google research pointed to as key for its top performing employees.

 

Undecided Liberal Arts allows students to explore Liberal Arts majors with the guidance of a career counselor and their academic advisor. Possible career choices include:

All Purdue University College of Liberal Arts majors prepare students with the skills identified as contributing to professional success: communicating and listening well, an understanding and appreciation of diverse points of view, creative thinking and problem solving, a collaborative mindset, the ability to synthesize complex ideas and communicate them clearly, and a Boilermaker work ethic.
