This online, self-guided system is designed to help Liberal Arts Boilermakers identify potential majors and occupations that best suit their interests and skill sets. By completing Focus 2, students will be able to:

  • Identify and reflect on their work and leisure interests.
  • Recognize their primary skills and values.
  • Consider their personality as it relates to careers.
  • Explore and compare suggested majors and occupations.

HOW TO GET STARTED WITH FOCUS 2

  • After clicking the link above, click on "Register" to create an account.
  • Enter the requested information.
    • Use the access code: boilerup
    • Make sure to use your Purdue email address
    • Select your expected graduation year when prompted. Do not select CLA Faculty/Staff or Alumni.
  • Check the box to agree with the terms and conditions.
  • Click "Continue."

 

ONCE YOU'VE CREATED YOUR ACCOUNT

  • Complete the 3 assessments under "Career Planning Foundations."
  • Complete the 5 self assessments.
  • You can take these assessment sections on your phone, tablet, or any device.
  • Working through the program does not have to be done in one sitting. You can log back in at any time.

 

AFTER YOU'VE COMPLETED YOUR FOCUS 2 ASSESSMENT

  • Review our Career Action Plan and then make an appointment with a Career Coach to review your results.
  • Use the tools and resources available through Focus 2 for further career and education exploration.
