Marsha Sims’ fieldwork includes Paleoindian sites to historic sites in Indiana, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and South America with emphasis in paleoethnobotany, bone chemistry, and cultural resources management (CRM). She has written numerous reports and published articles and is an active member of the Society for American Archaeology, Plains Anthropology, Colorado Council of Profession Archaeologists, and Registered Professional Archaeologists.

While at Purdue, Sims was inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honorary Society and a member of the swim team. After graduation from Purdue, Sims worked in the Anthropology Department of the Smithsonian Institution and then for the USDA Soil Conservation Service. She received a Master’s from the University of Nebraska in 1990 and attended the University of Missouri from 1990 to 1992 in the Archaeology Ph.D. program.

Sims has two children.
