Lorraine K. Lawton Scholarship/Award
The Lorraine K. Lawton Award was established to honor her memory. She died in Iraq on July 10, 1991, during Desert Storm.

Criteria for Eligibility:
A scholarship based on merit for undergraduate students with a major or minor in the Italian division of the School of Languages and Cultures and participating in a study abroad program in Italy. Student majoring or minoring in Italian Studies will be given preference. Students enrolled in Italian courses will be considered depending on the availability of funding.

An award based on merit to provide a stipend for non-domestic graduate students enrolled in the School of Languages and Cultures and/or in the Comparative Literature Program, to be awarded to recipients who are not otherwise financially supported by the University through an assistantship.
