In this seminar, we will combine discussion, presentation and production to explore the relationships between new media art and nature/ecology. Participants will bring with them their ideas and experiences of nature, especially the sounds they associate with those ideas and experiences, which we will use for a seminar-style discussion supplemented by presentation from the professors. We will then work on a simple sound circuit project that can further explore these themes from a cutting edge artistic perspective. We will work both inside the studio and outside in the Purdue environment. (Students will get to keep the sound circuits/projects they develop.)
