Color Graphics Controller

Senior year (A&D59000E Physical Computing)

Color Graphics Controller is a tactile approach to controlling time-based media interactively. Aesthetically I tried to pair the handmade quality of the digital animation with deliberately chosen inexpensive construction matereials. The system I developed takes the lateral motion of pulling a string and converts it into data using a simple potentiometer that the computer can use to control an animation. The animation is projected onto the back of a screen that the user interacts with. There are two animation sequences which are triggered depending on the position of the potentiometer.
