The Cummings-Perrucci Lecture Series on Class, Race and Gender Inequality
The Cummings-Perrucci Lecture is an annual series on class, race, and gender inequality supported by an endowed fund in the College of Liberal Arts, created by Carolyn Cummings Perrucci and Robert Perrucci in 2009. The purpose of the lectures is to bring to campus speakers who can reach a broader audience beyond the scholars in the participating departments/programs.

The Lecture Series is rotated among three academic departments/programs and a lecture is delivered annually under the sponsorship of the responsible department for that year. The participating departments/programs are:  Department of Sociology; African American Studies and Research Center (AASRC); and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS).

Advanced Methods at Purdue (AMAP)

The Advanced Methodologies in the Behavioral, Health, and Social Science cluster started as an interdisciplinary cross-college initiative to advance research and training in advanced quantitative and qualitative methods. Eight new faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Health and Human Sciences as well as many more affiliates currently participate in various AMAP activities. This fall, AMAP held its first two-day symposium, bringing in innovative methodologists from across the country to discuss exciting methodological developments across many disciplines. AMAP also conducts short one-day workshops on various methodological techniques. Past workshops have covered data visualization, survey design, programming, data management, and missing data techniques. AMAP is currently developing a graduate certificate in advanced methodologies. Read more about AMAP and its activities on the website (purdue.edu/AMAP).

Assistant Professor of Sociology Trenton Mize is an AMAP core faculty member and conducts many of the AMAP workshops.
