The Department of Art and Design is a collaborative and multidisciplinary program, with strong Art Studio practices and top-ranked Design areas. As a top-ranked Design and Applied Arts school in the U.S, our mission is to provide excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. The Art and Design students have opportunities to work with internationally recognized faculty in state-of-the-art facilities with some of the best technology available for the making, studying, and teaching of the visual arts. The Department of Art and Design, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), offers the BFA, MA, MFA, and Ph.D. degrees.
MAJORS AND MINORS: Our undergraduate majors and concentrations are the following: Art Education, Art History, Integrated Studio Arts (2D Extended Media, Craft & Materials Studies, and Art, Culture & Technology), Industrial and Interaction Design, Interior Design, Studio Arts & Technology, and Visual Communication Design. Minors are offered in the following disciplines: Ceramics, Drawing & Illustration, Textile Design, Jewelry & Metals, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Electronic & Time-Based Art.
