Majoring and Minoring in French
The French major within the School of Languages and Cultures offers a full range of coures in language, literature, linguistics, second language acquisition, pedagogy, and film.
The French program currently offers two different major tracks, the French–Language & Culture Track, BA, and the French-Education Track, BA. A French Minor and a Business French Minor are offered within the French Program.
Motivated, driven students can complete this major in three years. Degree in 3 allows students to enter the work force or graduate school a year earlier while also providing a cost-effective way to complete an undergraduate degree. Degree in 3 offers a great combination of cost-savings and the opportunity to accelerate your future and achieve your goals.
Students with different interests may choose to go for two majors. Degree Plus is a streamlined, 4-year dual-degree program that gives current and incoming Boilermakers the opportunity to work toward simultaneous undergraduate degrees in the College of Liberal Arts and another school or college. For Degree Plus students, the CLA core requirement is waived.
