Brian Johnson received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Purdue University in 2019. His research areas include the history of early modern philosophy, modern European philosophy, ethics, and social-political Philosophy. He has written and presented papers on moral perception, late-eighteenth century theories of conscience, and Hegel’s account of music in the Lectures on Aesthetics. His teaching and research focus on the ways in which humans find meaning in the world around them through interpretation and self-expression.  He joined the Department of Anthropology in 2022.  His office is STON 219D and his email is johns383@purdue.edu.
