Dr. Hyesun Choung (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison) is an Assistant Professor at the Brian Lamb School of Communication. Her research primarily focuses on the social and ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithmic decision-making. Dr. Choung’s current projects explore the collaboration between humans and AI, the use of large language models (LLMs) in communication, and trust in AI systems. Her work examines how emerging technologies influence human behaviors, particularly in areas such as health decision-making, facial recognition, and automated content generation. Before joining Purdue University, Dr. Choung was a faculty member and postdoctoral research associate at Michigan State University.
