David Sparks has a B.A. in Cognitive Science from Indiana University and holds an M.A.T. in teaching also from Indiana University. He received the CELTA teaching certificate and the D.E.L.E (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language - Superior level). He spent a total of 10 years teaching English in South Korea, including 8 years teaching college students at Chungbuk National University and Cheongju University, where he offered courses in English conversation, pronunciation, academic writing, and TOEFL iBT preparation. His background is in language acquisition, pedagogy, motivation, and Computer Assisted Language Learning. Currently he is interested in task-based learning, collaborative learning, and technology in the classroom. David is also an avid Purdue sports fan, musician, and Star Wars fanatic.
