Ellen Bulow’s area of research focuses upon on repertoire selection for the piano including practices and process at various levels of performance. She is a dedicated performer herself with many engagements at major regional and national festivals and conferences. Currently, she serves as the President of Indiana Music Teachers Association.
Bulow’s teaching experience includes applied piano, class piano, piano studio, music theory, musicianship and music appreciation. She is recognized for her work as a collaborative artist.
Bulow received her BA in Music from University of Hawaii, MM in Piano Performance from Winthrop University, DMA in Music Education from Boston University, as well as a Performance Diploma in Piano from Trinity College of Music, London. She is also a nationally certified teacher of music (NCTM), Music Teachers National Association, and was the recipient of Excellence in Teaching Award for Continuing Lecturers from Department of Dance, Arts, and Performance, Purdue University. Previously she had taught at University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Lamar University and Lamar State College in Texas.
