Haiyan Li earned her Ph.D. in Literacy and Language Education at Purdue University. She has served as an associate professor in EFL in China, with instructional experience spanning across various educational levels, including graduate, undergraduate, and K-12. Additionally, she co-founded an online education company, successfully orchestrating cultural-exchange programs for hundreds of Chinese students in the United States from 2014 to 2017. Her passion lies in guiding bilingual and biliterate students within linguistically diverse classrooms. Her research is centered on literacy curriculum and instructional design for ELL/ESL students, as well as the efficacy of professional development programs for ELL educators. Her scholarly work has been presented at conferences such as AERA, AAAL and TESOL, and published in prestigious journals including TESOL Quarterly, Language Policy, and the Journal of Language, Identity & Education. She also serves on the editorial board of the INTESOL Journal.
