Dr. Stahura joined the Purdue University faculty in 1975. He has authored or coauthored over 35 sociological articles in journals such as: the American Sociological Review, Social Forces, Sociological Quarterly, Sociological Spectrum, Sociology and Social Research, Criminology, Research on Aging, Pacific Sociological Review, Sociological Inquiry, Journal of Comparative Family Studies, Journal of Urban Affairs, Urban Affairs Quarterly, and others. He has also published or coauthored a number of scientific articles in disciplines outside of Sociology. He has presented papers at a variety of national and regional conferences in Sociology as well as other disciplines. He has served on the editorial boards of two Sociological journals as well as served as reviewer for 20 different professional journals. Recent research has focused on consumer behavior and suburbanization of minorities in American metropolitan areas. He is the Director of the Social Research Institute and Coordinator of the Certificate program in Survey Research. He has taught recent undergraduate courses in Urban Sociology and Research Methods. His recent graduate offerings have been in Statistics and Survey Research Methods.
