Professor Niepokuj is the author of The Development of Verbal Reduplication in Indo-European (1997). She has published articles in the Journal of Indo-European Studies and the Proceedings of the Berkeley Linguistics Society and contributed two chapters to two recent edited collections published by John Benjamins: Germanic Linguistics: Synchronic and Diachronic (1996) and Explanation in Historical Linguistics (1992). She is a specialist in historical linguistics and theoretical phonology and regularly teaches the History of the English Language. Her research interests include theoretical approaches to historical change and Indo-European languages and literatures, particularly Celtic, Germanic, and Indic languages.
