Negin holds a PhD in English/Second Language Studies from Purdue University and attained ABD (All But Dissertation) status in Communications, which she pursued several years ago in Iran. She has instructed diverse ESL courses for international graduate and undergraduate students, as well as courses in Communications and college composition writing.

Her research interests include World Englishes, the (inter)cultural dimensions of language teaching and learning, social justice in ESL teaching, and disability studies. Negin's work has been published as book chapters and in esteemed journals like World Englishes and Review of Disability Studies, to name a few, and five monograph books in Persian. She is also a social justice activist focusing on the rights of people with disabilities. In her classroom, Negin actively promotes social equity by incorporating materials that represent minority groups within the cultural and sociopolitical contexts of English usage.

Negin enjoys reading novels, writing, playing Volleyball, running, taking care of stray cats, exploring nature, and photography.
