Office and Contact

Paul completed his B.S. in Human Biology from Michigan State University and an M.A. in Philosophy from Northern Illinois University. Prior to his M.A. degree he worked in the pharmaceutical industry for a number of years making various products from an Anthrax vaccine to Insulin. His areas of interest lie in social and political philosophy, ethics (especially applied ethics) and metaethics. In Social and Political philosophy, he is interested in questions surrounding the justifications of political power. Do governments have the right to rule and if so from where does that power come? He is also interested in debates surrounding the currency of egalitarian justice and to what extent should a just society tolerate inequalities. His ethical interest is primarily in applied ethics, particularly the ethics surrounding self-defense and just war theory. Finally, in metaethics he is interested in the debates surrounding moral realism and evolutionary debunking arguments.
