Office and Contact

Umme Bushra is a BA-MA student at the Purdue University History Department. She moved to the United States during her adolescent years with her family from Bangladesh. She came to Purdue as an undergraduate in biochemistry in 2019 and later switched her major to History. She is primarily interested in the modern and cultural history of East and South Asia, more specifically Japan and Bangladesh, as well as U.S. foreign relations regarding these two regions. Her early years living in Bangladesh have allowed her to fluently speak Bangla, and she plans on pursuing proficiency in Japanese. She is also interested in anime, games, J-pop, horror, and virtual reality. She will be working under the guidance of Dr. David Atkinson.
