Biography:
Sam is a Master’s student at the Brian Lamb School of Communication studying Media, Technology, and Society. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Professional Writing/Rhetoric and in Film/Digital Media from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Research and Teaching:
Sam’s research is in media effects, exploring audiences’ relationships with entertainment media and characters. He specifically focuses on video games, parasocial relationships, and the way that perceived morality impacts peoples’ enjoyment of stories. Sam also taught COM 114 (Presentational Speaking) and is a teaching assistant for COM 102 (Introduction to Communication Theories) and COM 256 (Introduction to Advertising).
