Marianne Boruch
Marianne Boruch, professor of English, was selected as the winner of the $10,000 National Author prize given by the 2015 Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award for a body of work. The prize honors a writer with Indiana ties who is known and read throughout the country. It also includes a $2,500 grant for a public library of the winner’s choice, and Boruch will split her grant between the Tippecanoe County and West Lafayette public libraries.
Boruch is the author of eight poetry collections, including the recent Cadaver, Speak, and the 2013 Kingsley-Tufts Poetry Award winner The Book of Hours, as well as two essay collections on poetry, and a memoir, The Glimpse Traveler. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, The New York Review of Books, American Poetry Review, London Review of Books, Ploughshares, and The Nation, among other publications. Her awards include Pushcart Prizes, fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center, The American Academy in Rome, and The Anderson Center in Red Wing, MN.
Copper Canyon Press, which published her previous two poetry collections, will also publish her next, Eventually One Dreams the Real Thing, in 2016.
