Patrick Kain
Please join me in congratulating Patrick Kain, associate professor of philosophy, for his appointment as a 2018-19 residential research fellow and visiting research associate professor in the Center for Philosophy of Religion at the University of Notre Dame.
Pat – a scholar of the philosophy of Immanuel Kant and faculty fellow in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts Program – plans to devote his time at Notre Dame to developing a new interpretation of Kant’s account of divine freedom and divine legislation, then explaining how this account can lead to better understanding and appreciation of Kant’s concepts of human freedom, dignity, and moral autonomy.
The Notre Dame Center for the Philosophy of Religion’s primary mission is to promote work that explores the philosophy of religion and philosophical theology, fostering dialogue between the disciplines of philosophy and theology on topics of mutual interest.
Congratulations, Dr. Kain!
