Rich Dionne
Please join me in congratulating Rich Dionne, clinical assistant professor and faculty technical director in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, for his new book, Project Planning for the Stage: Tools and Techniques for Managing Extraordinary Performances (Southern Illinois University Press, 2018).
Leveraging his extensive background in production management, Rich’s book provides tools intended to help a technical manager deliver a successful theatre production. It is broken into four sections, mirroring the life cycle of a production. Each section details useful project-planning procedures.
Rich will soon release another book, having co-authored the eighth edition of Theatrical Design and Production: An Introduction to Scene Design and Construction, Lighting, Sound, Costume, and Makeup (McGraw-Hill Education) with Michael Gillette. Theatrical Design and Production has been in publication since 1987 and is one of the most widely used design and production texts in undergraduate theatre programs across the country.
Congratulations, Rich!
