Wendy Kline
Please join me in congratulating Wendy Kline, professor and Dema G. Seelye Chair in the History of Medicine, on the publication of her new book, Coming Home: How Midwives Changed Birth (Oxford University Press, 2019).
The book examines the United States home birth movement that took hold in the 1970s after the practice had all but disappeared in the preceding two decades. The first in-depth analysis of the subject, Coming Home “analyzes the ideas, values, and experiences that led to this quiet revolution and its long-term consequences for our understanding of birth, medicine, and culture.”
Congratulations, Professor Kline!
