Kathryn Cramer Brownell
Please join me in congratulating Kathryn Cramer Brownell, associate professor of history for receiving the 2022 Friend of History Award from the Organization of American Historians (OAH) and the 2022 Trailblazer Award from Purdue University.
Made By History, the Washington Post’s daily site for political historical analysis, co-edited by Katie, received The Friend of History Award which recognizes achievements in the public presentation of American history. Brownell is only the second Purdue affiliate to receive this award; the first was Brian Lamb/C-SPAN.
Katie also received Purdue’s Trailblazer Award, an annual award for midcareer faculty in the College of Education, College of Liberal Arts, College of Health and Human Sciences, and the Libraries and School of Information Studies whose recent research, scholarship, or creative work has made a significant impact in the disciplines of humanities, social sciences, and information sciences.
Katie’s research and teaching focus on American political history, the American presidency, and intersections of media, politics and popular culture in modern America.
Congratulations, Professor Brownell!
