Cornerstone for Business Teaching Award

 

The Cornerstone for Business Teaching Award will be given annually to one faculty member. Recipients of this award are chosen by the Cornerstone Advisory Committee and the Director of Cornerstone based on faculty nominations, student ratings, teaching and mentorship philosophy, and contributions to the Cornerstone for Business program

This teaching award honors excellence in teaching and mentorship for Liberal Arts and Daniels School of Business faculty teaching in Cornerstone for Business

 

  1. Criteria and Eligibility for the Award

    1. Anyone teaching in the first-year Cornerstone for Business sequence (SCLA 101 or 102) or in a class in Theme 4 of the Certificate: Management and Organizations during the previous or current academic year. Recipients of the award will not be eligible to receive it again for five years.
  2. Nominations

    1. Instructors can be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague in the College of Liberal Arts or the Daniels School of Business. Please email Dr. Stephanie Ayala-Chittick (smatosay@purdue.edu) with your nomination.
  3. The Nomination Document:

    1. A 500-word (2-page) narrative description of their teaching philosophy, mentorship, and goals. Nominees should also discuss how their goals and vision align with those of the Cornerstone for Business program and how they have sought to contribute to the program.
    2. Student Evaluations for Cornerstone for Business courses.
    3. The syllabus/syllabi for any Cornerstone for Business courses.
  4. Deadline

    1. Materials must be received by Dr. Stephanie Ayala-Chittick at smatosay@purdue.edu by March 1.
