Requirements for Admission to Program:

A 3.3 grade point average at the moment of application to the History Honors Program.

A 3.5 grade point average in history at the moment of application to the History Honors Program.

Applicants must be history majors.

The completion of 12 prior credit hours in History at Purdue, of which 3 of the credits must be in a 400 or 500-level course.
Application Process:
Any student desiring to be admitted to the History Honors Program must fill out form 1: Application for the Honors Program. Additionally, a student should write a brief (no more than 1 page) statement of intent, indicating aspirations and qualifications for history honors (for example, research interests and goals, past research experiences, or other reasons for applying to history honors). Submit the form, statement of intent, and a grade transcript to the History Honors Director. Email is acceptable. The application process will be one of rolling admission. That is, there will be no deadlines to meet in terms of submission of application. History Honors begins in the fall semester with HIST 421, followed by HIST 422 in the spring semester.
