ART/DANCE/THEATRE VENUES

To better serve the VPA student population and their interests we have identified several venues of that are affordable and in the downtown area. These are optional, but please consider taking advantage of the opportunities you will have on this trip. (We looked for music venues in the loop area on that day but there was nothing for this date during the day.)

1) The first arrival dropoff point in Chicago will be the Lou Conte Dance Studio at 1147 W. Jackson Blvd (Hubbard Street Dance). This is for those who want to take a dance class. Here is a link to the classes scheduled for March 3rd. https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/mainclass

A single class is $15.

LCDS is located in the Hubbard Street Dance Center at 1147 West Jackson Boulevard, on the southeast corner of Jackson and Racine. Click here for detailed directions to the studio.Easy walk back to downtown (1.8 miles-- around 38 minutes) or you can catch the 126 bus from Jackson and Racine which runs every 15 minutes, or take the metro-Blue Line from Racine which runs every 8 minutes.

2) The second arrival dropoff point is at the Art Institute of Chicago, on the east side of the building at 320 S. Columbus drive. When dropped off students will have to walk around to the north side of the AIC to the Modern Wing at 159 East Monroe to enter the museum. Buses cannot wait at that entrance, so the Columbus  spot is the best for the bus.
