A CONVERSATION WITH BRIAN LAMB AND STACY SCHIFF

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Stacy Schiff, Pulitzer Prize-winner and author of the New York Times Best Seller The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams is the featured guest for the CCSE Conversation with Brian Lamb.

Schiff has written several best-selling and historical works including The Witches: Salem, 1692, Véra (Mrs. Vladimir Nabokov), Cleopatra: A Life, and A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America.

The CCSE Conversation with Brian Lamb, hosted by the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement (CCSE) takes place on April 2, 2024, in Fowler Hall located in Purdue University’s Stewart Center. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the event begins at 7:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public.

During this hour-long interview, C-SPAN founder, Brian Lamb, and Schiff will explore thought- provoking insights on early American history, the Revolutionary War and the Founding Fathers. Schiff will also share insights from her latest book, The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams, which seeks to put the life story of this forgotten revolutionary hero back together.

Regarded as “perhaps the most seductive writer of nonfiction prose in America in our time” by the Wall Street Journal, Schiff has appeared frequently on C-SPAN and made numerous appearances discussing, in her words, “people and moments that changed our world… people who leave the world different to the one they had been born in. (In Depth Book TV, C-SPAN)”.

During her nearly 30 years as an author and essayist, Schiff has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities and was a Director’s Fellow at the Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library. Hailed as a “tour de force,” The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams, was also named on President Obama’s list of Best 10 Books of 2022.
